I'm very much aware that I'm never going to be a mega blogger and I'm fine with that. I traveled so much this year and it was amazing, but as a result I didn't have the time to update this blog as much as I liked...besides, no one wants to see me in hiking shoes and sweats! However, I do love this blog. It's so much fun for me to look back on my outfits and see how my style has or hasn't changed. These are some of my favorite outfits from this year...I hope you like reading this blog as much as I like writing it!

Happy new year!

095: Hitting the Max

Beanie - Forever 21, Both plaid shirts - Mossimo (yup, Target), Coat - H&M, Sunglasses - House of Harlow 1960 "Emily" in Panther, Jeans - BDG, Bag - purchased in Paris, Shoes - House of Harlow 1960 "Warner" Boots, Lipstick - NARS "Cruella"

Since I've been back from my travels, I feel like I've really mastered the art of wearing denim stylishly. Most days I wear jeans with either these black House of Harlow 1960 booties (so Alexander Wang looking!), or a similar brown pair by Kork-Ease. I love them because not only do they look adorable, they have a leather upper, leather lining, and leather sole which means they're fairly warming.

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I announced a week or so ago that I'm pretty much wearing beanies for the rest of winter. Well, I wasn't joking! The funny thing is, after complaining about how hats don't usually look good on me,  Kathleen told me just a week or so before that I should try wearing beanies. I guess she was right!

So what's the title about? Well, I feel like this is the most patterns I've ever mixed (four including my sunnies) and I'm pretty proud of myself because I think it came out pretty well. Now I want to challenge myself to mix five. Unfortunately, that sounds a little too crazy even for me.

Dries Van Noten isn't the -est anything. Not the biggest name in fashion, the highest fashion, or the necessarily the "best" fashion, in that it isn't the most wearable fashion for all people across the board. But there was something really special about Dries Van Noten Spring/Summer 2013, because almost a year after its release to stores, we're still talking about it and I am definitely still thinking about it. These images are my top 15 looks from the season, and the ones I am hoping will still inspire my purchases and manner of dress for the coming year. Nothing captured my mind like this since Charlotte Ronson in 2011 (though when placed side by side, Char Ron ain't got nothing on Dries). The layering is impeccable and clever, the patterns are aggressive and aggressively mixed but don't clash, and can we please talk about that perfect pink lipstick?

What I'd Like to Be Wearing: Slouch

Rag Bone oversized black sweater $195 / Topshop activewear pants $76/ A.P.C. socks, $41 / Alexander Wang leather booties $495 / 3 1 Phillip Lim mini zip bag, $765 / Gorjana 18k necklace $75/ River Island beanie hat, $20 / C√ČLINE black glasses $482/ Burberry moisturizing lipstick, $37

A combo not that far from reality - I have ordered these shoes in brown and more or less plan on living in an outfit like this until winter is over.
