What I'd Like to Be Wearing: In the Fall

what I'd like to be wearing in the fall
Bag - Acne (so obsessed with it, but so expensive!), Hat - Nixon, Jumper - Marni x H&M, Oxfords - JayJays (at only $5, they are sold out, sadly), Jeans - 3.1 Phillip Lim, Lipstick - Giorgio Armani, Sunglasses - Ray-Ban, Ring - House of Harlow 1960
I don't really want to be thinking about fall yet, but when you live and work fashion, as I do, it's inevitable. This would be my perfect fall outfit...budget reality ignored, of course. I wish I could find that Marni x H&M jumper in stores so bad!

What I'd Like to Be Wearing: Ice Cream Digi

what i'd like to be wearing
Blazer - Aritzia (similar here),  Hurrican Digi Shirt - Due Fashion, High heel sandal - Zara, Clutch - Made by a Girl, Star Necklace - Barney's, Sunglasses - Illesteva "Leonard," Nail polish - Essie "Mint Candy Apple", Shorts - Own the Runway (not available to what I can see, but similar here, here)

Hi guys! Remember how when I first started this blog, I told you I took all the photos with a tripod as I have no one else to do it? That fact still remains, and sometimes, I don't have the time to do that. So instead of leaving you with nothing, today's I'm posting what I'd like to be wearing - assuming that cost, body, and personal values were no object. I la-la-la love a crispy white blazer and ice cream tones...and for some reason, lately digital prints have been growing on me. I'm not afraid to be matchy matchy, either!

042: Don't Cal 'Em Pajamas, They're Palazzo Pants

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
Tweed Jacket - Cynthia Cynthia Steffe, Military Jacket - Charlotte Russe, Shirt - Walmart, Blue Palazzo Pants - Target, Necklace - House of Harlow 1960 Sunburst Pendant, Sunglasses - Chloe 2145 (similar here), sandals - Charlotte Russe, Bag - Vintage Roots

It was SO EFFING HOT the day I bought these pants. I walked into Target for peanut butter and whatnot and as I was wearing jeans, came out with these super light palazzo pants for just $20. I think they'll be great all summer long. I wore them in this outfit the very next day to the North Beach Fest, so I layered appropriately because we all know how SF was. It ended up being way more cold and miserable, and me and my friend Sami had a pretty crap time.

On an on related note, a reminder I realized today: If you're 23, don't rush to face the rest of your life. You have the rest of your life for that.

041: Bird of a Feather

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Printed (feather? leaf?) jeans - BDG (c/o Urban Outfitters), Trench - Kay Unger, Shirt - Arden B., Sunnies - Ray-Ban, Bag - Vintage Coach, Ribbon and Straw Heels - Ramon Tenza
I've become obsessed with printed jeans. Now if only I could get these in my life. I'd wear the living daylights out of them.

040: You've Got the White One

Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
When you have a dog this cute, how could you not pose with her? Photobucket
Sheer back mullet shirt - Evil Twin, Pants - Asos, Sandals - Ash, Sunglasses - House of Harlow "Emily" in Panther, Bag - Vintage, Necklace - Gorjana c/o
I love a good white on white for summer. Don't you?
I just have to say, how amazing is Evil Twin (and Minkpink?). I'm completely obsessed with their designs, so much so that every time I find it at Crossroads (which is where I got this top), I pretty much flip my shit.  I guess I am their target audience! I think every garment is just perfection.

My fluffy luff. I promised not to become a crazy dog person when I got my dog, Peanut, but I couldn't help myself and now I don't care. I promise you won't see an overload of puppy pictures of this blog...but here is one more!

039: Fancy Pants

Photobucket Photobucket

Printed Floral Jeans - BDG (c/o Urban Outfitters), dress worn as shirt - Audrey, What Blazer - Zara (similar here), Necklace - Gorjana c/o, Sunglasses - House of Harlow 1960 Emily in Panther, Sandals - Charlotte Russe, Bag - Vintage Roots

When I first got these jeans, I had no idea what to wear them with. But then I found this awesome mullet shirt, which is in fact a mullet dress that was too short on me to be worn as a dress, so I decided to tuck it in and rock it out. Have to say that this is one of my favorite outfits in a long time.

Music Monday: Kissing Families

This is my favorite Silversun Pickups song, and in fact, one of my all time favorite songs. I listen to it when I'm happy, and I'll never forget cruising through Kauai with this on full blast :)

038: French Wallpaper

Photobucket Photobucket
Pink floral jeans - BDG (c/o), Tank - Hanes, White shirt - Solitaire, Sandals - Ash, Sunglasses - Ray-Ban, Necklace - Vintage, Bag - Vintage Coach, Earrings - Egypt

Can we please talk about how fantastic the jeans look with my sandals? Please? For one, I'm glad to be getting in gray again. I had a huge gray phase (didn't we all?) and once I got out of it, I really got out of it. But it's nice to remember what a great color it is to wear. A bit of white and a bit of black - the perfect neutral for summer. I also love how subtle the colors are on these jeans, and I love the pattern - at first I thought it was a gray paint splatter, but upon further inspection, I realized it was a floral print. Upon further inspection, I now think they're not just any floral, but a seeming French wallpaper print. Perfect mix of feminine and grungy. And you guys know I wouldn't have it any other way.

You're probably wondering what that brace is on my left foot. Unfortunately, my ankle is still sprained from my Hawaii trip! I have no idea how long it is supposed to take to heal. Every time is starts to feel better, all of a sudden it starts hurting again. As a result, I've been having to keep to pretty low shoes. These Ash sandals are so eye-catching, especially for being just sandals. They have a really low wedge so I'm going to go ahead and say they're safe to wear. The buckle around the heel simply kills me!

037 Cyber Punked

My BooBoo wanted to join me for a quick snap :)
 Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

White Blazer - Zara (similar here), White shirt - Vintage, Necklace - Gorjana c/o, Bag - vintage, Sunglasses - House of Harlow 1960 "Emily" in Panther, Pants - BCBG Max Azria, Boots - Style & Co. (similar here), Shoe laces - eBay
I decided to add a little bit of cyber punk to this outfit by wearing a pretty clean cut ensemble with my combat boots, clad with neon green/yellow shoe laces. This white Zara blazer might just be one of my favorite  full price purchases ever. I say full price because with sites like MyHabit, Gilt, Hautelook, which I quite literally check everyday, and stores like Crossroads, TJMaxx, and Marshall's, I rarely pay full price for anything. It's the perfect white blazer and can be worn with so many things! Glad to have this one for my summer.

Also, silly me, how did I put up my last post and not mention my new hair? Hellooooo new haircut! I chopped 10 inches off of my hair completely on a whim a little over a week ago and I couldn't be more pleased. I think it suits my face so, so, soooo much more, and it's way easier to maintain. Kathleen chopped her hair on the same day, I think. How cute is that? Short hair twinsies! Overall I feel...lighter. More free. It was actually a direct react to my Hawaii trip. I'm just in this mood to feel more at ease in life. Plus, I'm pretty sure this hair will look miles better with a sundress, haha! As a side note, the amount of cat calls/hit ons I get per week has gone up dramatically. I guess not all boys like long hair.

Here's a before and after, plus a little snap of my hairdresser, Fred. I just realized this is the first time you guys have seen my face without sunglasses! Fred, by the way, might be the only male hairdresser in the world who isn't gay.

Note to Self: Check Spam Box (I won!)

I don't usually post more than once per day, but I just had to check in with you guys because I just found out that I placed as a runner up in the Stumble Upon x House of Harlow 1960 contest! The contest is called "The Best of Spring" and basically you had to make an outfit around that theme. I use Polyvore for work quite frequently, so I made an outfit involving many things I am into right now, including a white suit, lipstick tones (on clothing), daytime sequins, and my favorite House of Harlow cuff bracelet. I won almost a week ago but didn't know because the email went to my spam folder - how glad am I that they emailed me again and this time it went to my inbox??!

Spring StumbleUpon Outfit

I gushed about House of Harlow before and so it was a real treat getting that email. I already claimed my prizes - this necklace and these earrings. Here is the blog post in which StumbleUpon names the winners, which were judged by Can I tell you how flattered I am that picked me??!

Music Monday: Come As You Are

I love this beautiful cover of one of Nirvana's most iconic songs.

Gifted Girl

A few weeks ago, I was floored to receive an email from the Urban Outfitters PR department thanking me for my support of their denim (I own a number of BDG jeans, but I wear the shit out of my mint BDG jeans). I was first floored by the fact that Urban Outfitters had noticed this blog, and then floored again with they (hi Crystal!) asked me if they could send me some jeans from their new denim collection. Well, I couldn't have been more grateful. The package came nicely wrapped holding three pairs of wiiild printed jeans and I love every one of them (though the pink ones are my absolute faves!). I can't wait to wear them. I haven't thought of an outfit for the black ones yet, but I'm sure I will.

Since I received a gift and all, I guess now's a good time to  make outline my policy with gifts.
  1. I will never accept or wear a gift if it doesn't suit my personal style.
  2. I will always tell you when I am wearing something that was gifted to me.
  3. I will always, always appreciate the sentiment. A gift is a gift - no one is entitled to it. So if someone were to offer one to me, even if I can't accept it, I'd always say thank you. I think "thank you" is something we don't hear enough these days.
That said, thank you Urban Outfitters and Crystal :)
